You will need to bring your referral with you to your appointment to be eligible for a Medicare rebate. Referrals from your GP are generally valid for a period of 12 months from your first visit, while referrals from Specialists are valid for only 3 months. A new referral may be required when you are seeing your Dermatologist for a new or unrelated medical condition, as a referral is generally linked to the condition or course of treatment for which you were referred.

The Dermatologists generally have waiting lists for appointments and as a courtesy to other patients, request that you provide at least 24 hours notice for cancellation or change of appointment so that we may offer your appointment to other waiting patients. As such, there maybe a $100 cancellation fee for not notifying reception by telephone of inability to attend with 24 hours notice.

Drummoyne Dermatology is a specialist private patient facility, with all fees payable at the time of consultation. We accept EFTPOS, Visa, Mastercard and cash.
Fees for consultations, surgical procedures and treatments are determined by the Dermatologist you choose. A standard consultation is approximately $360.00, although fees vary between Dermatologists. Additional charges apply for procedures such as skin biopsies, freezing treatments, and the removal of skin cancers or moles.
All fees are subject to change and may vary depending on the complexity of the consultation or treatment, or at the discretion of the treating Dermatologist. During your consultation, you are welcome to ask your Dermatologist for a financial estimate outlining the anticipated cost of any surgical procedure or treatment before it is performed.
A Medicare rebate may be available where a valid referral is provided.
The Dermatologist you see may offer a discounted consultation fee to patients who hold an Age Pension Concession Card. Patients who hold a DVA Gold Card will have their account submitted directly to DVA.
